The L.I.F.E program combines independent living, community access, employment supports, recreation programming and children's services. The L.I.F.E program provides non-overnight community living supports to individuals with disabilities and enables individuals to live as independently as they choose, while empowering them to develop life and social skills to enhance their quality of life. L.I.F.E is a flexible program, and supports are structured to fit the needs of the individual.

Recreation Programming is an inclusive opportunity that targets the community of Barrhead as a whole. A few examples of the type or workshops that recreation programming offers are:

• scammer awareness

• bicycle and pedestrian safety

• emergency preparedness

• jewelry making

• woodworking

Within our recreation programming we also offer activities such as day trips within Barrhead, surrounding communities and beyond. There are daily activities scheduled "in house" at the Blue Heron office for people who would prefer to stay closer to home such as, card games, arm chair traveler, tai-chi, wii tournaments, and various arts and crafts.
